We are seeking a  Teacher Assistant in McAllen, Texas to join our team.  As a Teacher Assistant (TA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students. Your responsibilities will include assisting with classroom management, preparing materials for lessons, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students as needed. You will collaborate closely with the teacher to ensure the smooth functioning of daily activities and the implementation of educational plans.

Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Support:
   • Assist the lead teacher in maintaining discipline and order within the classroom.
   • Supervise students during activities and ensure a safe environment.
   • Help with classroom transitions and daily routines.
2. Instructional Support:
   • Aid in preparing instructional materials and setting up equipment for lessons.
   • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
   • Assist in implementing lesson plans and instructional strategies outlined by the teacher.
3. Administrative Tasks:
   • Help with record-keeping, such as attendance and grading assignments.
   • Prepare and organize classroom materials, supplies, and equipment.

4. Student Interaction:
   • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their academic and social growth.
   • Provide guidance and support to students as they work on assignments or projects.
   • Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating appropriate behavior and attitudes.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
   • Communicate effectively with the lead teacher regarding student progress and concerns.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is a plus).
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with students.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and equipment as needed.

Working Conditions:

• Work hours typically follow the school schedule, with occasional evening or weekend activities.
• Exposure to classroom noise and student behavior.
