We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineering Technician in Baltimore, Maryland to join our team. The Environmental Engineering Technician in Baltimore, Maryland will work under the supervision of environmental engineers and scientists to assist in various projects related to environmental protection, pollution control, and remediation efforts. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, data collection methods, and laboratory procedures. Responsibilities:

• Field Work: Conduct field investigations to collect environmental samples, such as soil, water, and air, using specialized equipment and techniques. Perform site assessments to identify potential environmental hazards and assess compliance with regulatory standards.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of environmental data using various software tools and databases. Interpret data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential environmental risks.
• Laboratory Support: Prepare environmental samples for laboratory analysis, including sample preservation, labeling, and documentation. Assist in conducting laboratory tests and experiments to analyze contaminants and assess environmental quality.
• Instrumentation and Monitoring: Operate and maintain environmental monitoring equipment, such as air quality monitors, groundwater samplers, and weather stations. Calibrate instruments and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure accurate data collection.
• Report Writing: Assist in the preparation of technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and permit applications. Summarize findings, conclusions, and recommendations in clear and concise written documents for internal use and regulatory compliance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about environmental regulations and standards relevant to the industry. Assist in ensuring that projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
• Project Support: Provide support to environmental engineers and scientists in designing and implementing environmental remediation projects. Assist in developing strategies to mitigate environmental impacts and promote sustainability.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and team members. Identify and address potential safety hazards in the field and laboratory settings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
• Previous experience working as an environmental technician or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
• Proficiency in collecting and analyzing environmental data using field instrumentation and laboratory techniques
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and software applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, analysis, and documentation.
• Willingness to travel to field sites and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
