The Project Superintendent provides supervision and management for work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial installations to large complex projects involving multiple plumbing systems. He/she also assists in administrating the company safety program and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Job Description
- This full-time position is responsible for supervising work performed on systems ranging in difficulty from small basic commercial.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
- Manage/Direct/Lead project field manpower to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage quality of product/systems installed
- Manage/Schedule manpower to maintain/improve labor budget
- Work in conjunction with project manager
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing/piping/sheet metal trades and a minimum of 5 years of verifiable supervisory experience
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications and codes
- Thorough knowledge of other major craft blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of all plumbing systems including installation means/methods from domestic water to medical gas
- Thorough knowledge of piping systems including installation means/methods
- Thorough knowledge of ductwork systems including installation means/methods
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees and clients on a professional level
- The ability to supervise multiple foremen
- The ability to schedule projects and meet deadlines
