SCADA Systems Engineer Integrator – Los Angeles

Summary  

Our client is a full-service firm delivering integration solutions, namely system design, programming, implementation, radio performance assessments, network support and ongoing maintenance, are in immediate need of a SCADA Systems Engineer Integrator.  They have a very heavy focus on Wonderware InTouch/System Platform, Inductive Automation Ignition, FactoryTalk, and Modicon / Allen Bradley / Automation Direct / ControlWave.

Their team are considered leaders in providing technical expertise in all aspects of water management throughout southern California. They are a tight-knit group who value teamwork and are seeking talented and experienced Associate and Senior level systems integrators to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of SCADA programming experience and is looking for a company they can grow with long-term.  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Interface with customers to determine their needs 

• Assess SCADA systems to provide recommendations 

• Program PLCs 

• Develop SCADA interface screens 

• Program OIT terminals 

• Configure wireless radios 

• Troubleshoot all aspects of SCADA 

• Consult on the development of new quotes and bids 

• Interface with our COO to ensure that projects are on track, both in schedule and budget 

• Continue ongoing learning and developing competency and efficiency on new and existing products, solutions, technologies, and applications 

Qualifications & Requirements 

• Possess strong problem-solving skills, including proficiency in systematic troubleshooting  techniques 

• Have a basic understanding of electronics 

• Excellent people skills

• Have excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills 

• Creative thinker 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer sciences 

• 5+ years SCADA specific experience 

• Must be certified in Systems Platform for a minimum of five (5) years 

• Proficient and independent in all areas of SCADA programming. 

• Able to develop and maintain standards utilized in the development of the SCADA system and associated reporting equipment and telemetry including:

  • OIT Application development for Red Lion 

  • PLC programming for Modicon 

  • HMI Development utilizing AVEVA (Wonderware) System Platform and lnTouch 

  • Efficiently performs their tasks at a high level within the allotted time

  • Must have own (reliable) transportation 

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements

• System Platform certification (required within 90 days of employment)

• 3+ years’ experience with SCADA programming for water systems 

• Experience with alternate PLC equipment (i.e. Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, etc.) 

• Experience with alternate SCADA interfaces (eg Ignition, Factory Talk View and Iconics Genesis) 

• Have field experience with wireless radios such as GE MDS, Freewave, or Ubiquiti 

• Experience working with Cisco routers 

• Have a working knowledge of Ethernet networking technology and architectures
